Evaluation in a cooperative setting is a
procedure that includes all aspects of school life, and, therefore, must include
every participant and program. It is a dynamic and reciprocal process in which
administrators, faculty, parents, and students work together to understand and
improve their performance. Above all, grading and evaluation must be a learning
process.
A. Students
1. Pre-tests and post-tests will be
administered at the beginning and end of each course.
2. Students' performance will be assessed and
discussed at the weekly meetings of the teacher team.
Whenever it seems appropriate individual
students will be invited to participate in the discussion, to improve that
student's performance.
3. Students' grades will consist of
self-evaluation (15%), group evaluation (15%), teacher team evaluation (20%),
teacher of record evaluation (50%).
B. Faculty
1. Teachers will develop their goals and
objectives with the teacher team and with the headmaster and/or Master of
his/her school.
2. Teachers' implementation of their goals and objectives
will be discussed at the weekly meetings of the teacher team. The team members
will assist each other in developing successful strategies.
3. On a regular basis students will be invited
to comment on the performance of teachers and the relevancy of course material.
4. Formal evaluations will be chaired by the
Headmaster of the Colegio Luso Internacional do Porto. Teachers and the
headmaster may choose an evaluative model based on self-evaluation (20%),
teacher team evaluation (20%), headmaster evaluation (60%).
C. Master (Elementary and High Schools)
1. The master will develop his/her goals and
objectives with the Council of the Colegio
Luso Internacional do Porto, and with the headmaster.
2. The master's implementation of his/her goals
and objectives will be discussed at regular meetings of the Council of the the Colegio
Luso Internacional do Porto.
3. Formal evaluations will be chaired by the
headmaster The headmaster and the master may choose an evaluative model based
on self-evaluation (20%), Council of the the Colegio Luso Internacional do Porto
(20%), headmaster's evaluation (60%).
D. Headmaster
1. The headmaster will develop his/her goals
and objectives with the Council of the the Colegio Luso Internacional do Porto , and with the President of the
Executive Council.
2. The headmaster's implementation of his/her
goals and objectives will be discussed at regular meetings of the council of
the the Colegio Luso Internacional do Porto.
3. Formal evaluations will be chaired by the
President of the Executive council. The president and the headmaster may choose
an evaluative model based on self-evaluation (20%), Council of the the Colegio Luso Internacional do Porto (20%),
president's evaluation (60%).
E. Programs
1. The headmaster, faculty, students and
parents will evaluate the effectiveness of curricular offerings and programs.
2. In June of every year, the Council of the the
Colegio Luso Internacional do Porto , chaired by the president of the Executive
Council, will conduct a formal evaluation of courses and programs to assess their
effectiveness and to propose changes for the following year.
3. The Council of the the Colegio Luso
Internacional do Porto will examine periodically the standards and procedures for
carrying out these evaluations.
4. Data, elicited through questionnaires, on
the opinions of faculty, students, parents, and administrators concerning the
implementation process, sch90l organization, curriculum and instruction will be
gathered, analyzed and disseminated on a regular basis.
5. Analyses of students' grade point averages, attendance,
disciplinary problems, standardized test scores, etc. will be carried out on a
regular basis.
